Summary of Question:Are Shoes Permitted In The Langgar Hall???
Category:Gurdwara

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I know this sounds rather stupid but I really need to clear my doubt about this topic.

Since young, I have been thought that shoes are not allowed in the langgar hall.
But nowadays I see many people, including granthis wearing footwear in the langgar hall. Isnt this showing disrespect to Guruji's langgar?? Please help me in answering this question cos I'm confused as some pple say its ok whereas some strongly forbid it. Thank u.

Sat Siri Akaal Ji.
Shoes should not be worn into a lungar hall. In the gurdwaras I visited in India, shoes were taken off before entering the lungar hall. Sometimes people wear them because the floor is not kept clean, but that does not make it right. Guru's lungar hall should be shoe free.
