Summary of Question:How Can Violence Justify An End?
Category:General Q's from Non-Sikhs

I am writing to all those with links to sikhism to express my profound horror at the religious fascism espoused by sikhs in their denial of freedom of speech and expression through their collective violence in Birmingham.

I am asking all potential funders of sikh activities to bar any further monies going to any sikh cause until there is an incontrovertible guarantee from sikh leaders that they sign up to the human right of freedom of speech.

Sat nam. Violence in the situation that has spawned what you reference is absolutely uncalled for. Freedom of speech is a uniquely western cultural value, that those who adopt the west have not necessarily bought into or understand the BLESSING of. While this is not the place to put this plea, this Sikhnet moderator is appalled at what is happening in Birmingham and I agree with you in principle. Guru ang sang,
