Sat Sri Akal,

You know how the golden temple uses a lot of marble, I wanted to ask where this marble came from. Did it come from Mosques in Lahore becuase that is what I have heard. Was it right to take marble from Mosques becuase Sikhs should respect other religions. Your answer would be appreciated.

Sat Siri Akaal. No No No, the marble in Golden Temple did NOT come from mosques in Lahore, though it may have come from somewhere now in Pakistan. I don't know where exactly the marble came from. You should search the web for the history of the Golden Temple. There are also books about it, so do some research.

But 5th Guru (who built the Golden Temple) would NEVER have permitted the marble to be taken from a mosque. HOWEVER, the rumor you have heard may have been a corruption of the fact that the person who laid the cornerstone (first stone) of the Golden Temple was a Muslim saint named Sant Mee-a Mir. He and Guru Arjun remained friends right up to the end of 5th Guru's life.
Guru ang sang,
