I am asking this question as a heterosexual Singhnee. I just wanted to know if Sikhi is accepting towards homosexuals and bisexuals. Our society is constantly discussing the persecution of gays and lesbians and homo- and bi-sexual issues, and I wanted to know what the Sikh faith says about such practices. Thanks.

Dear Preeti Kaur--
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
Siri Guru Granth Sahib is not EXPLICIT about homosexuals/homosexuality.
You know from our history that Sikhs have suffered because we are DIFFERENT than Muslims and Hindus. We are taught as Sikhs that to criticize others for who they are or for their differences from us is to criticize the One Creator Who made us ALL (Kabir: Aval Allah Noor Upaa-i-aa shabd). So, whatever a Sikh may feel about homosexuality personally, it is NOT the Sikh way to participate in criticism and persecution of homosexuals. If you cannot see God in all, you cannot see God at all.
