Just a note to remind everyone who has sent us email asking "Why didn't you answer my question?" or "How long does it take before I see my question in the forum?" or "How do you decide which questions to answer?" that (as we tell you when entering a question):

"PLEASE do a thorough search through the existing questions that have been answered."

Remember that 80% of all the questions that are asked here have already been answered in detail. The searchable archives of the forum will usually provide the answer you are looking for. Questions about the same topics (Gurdwara protocol, 'should I marry a non-sikh?', can I date (or wear makeup, or masturbate, or use alcohol, etc.), why can we cut our nails but we have to keep hair uncut?, etc. have all been answered many times. If we receive a question that has been answered already, we usually do not approve it and make it public. New questions of general interest are usually answered, but it may take several days for the moderator team to give a reply.

Remember, search first.
