I would just like to say in response to Kal NO ha and depictions of Sikhs in Indian movies that most Indians in real life are very proud of Sikhs and I dont know why these idiotic moviemakers have to always depict sikhs in bad spots, every Indian community can made fun of and if the idea is to make fun of people choose other groups and make it light hearted fun, not be insulting or religious. Why not accord same respect to Sikhs like moslims. Muslims as good characters are shown as self righteous lecturing types 'Mussalman kabhi jhoot nahi.." etc These moviemakers never get it right!!

Anyways I am Hindu and I have never come across any Hindus or other Indians in real life who thought Sardars to be anything like depicted in movies. I agree that this is demoralizing for young kids as they will get brunt of this in school. Hope better sense prevails amongst these karan Johars and writing to movie magazines is a good idea.
