I understand why Kara is really important for a Sikh. However, I heard from several people that the actual Kara should be made out of pure steel. Is that true? If so why?

We wear steel, we carry steel, we live strong as steel. The interaction of steel with the electromagnetic field of the body gives strength and toughness. God and silver are okay for decoration (gold giving energy of the sun and silver giving energy of the moon), but for kara we must have steel or iron. It does not matter on which wrist the kara is worn, but men have dominant projective energy from right side of the body and women have dominant receptive energy from left side of the body, therefore the potency of the energy of the kara is enhanced for each sex respectively on the proper side. Male and female are equal.... but not the same! Men do not give birth and women do not grow beards.
