I was born and raised in Canada. I love my culture (both Indian and Canadian) and have the great respect for Sikhism!!! I not a great scholar or anything like that but one thing I know, is that the foundation of Sikhism is based on respect. What I mean is EVERYONE is created equal and to help those less fortunate. So it doesn't matter if you cut your hair, trim your eye brows as far as I am concerned. if you prefer to have someone that doesn't cut their hair that your preference but you should not generalize every guy and girl into the boat. I personally drink, does that make less of a Sikh than you?? for my understand there is to specified places in the Guru Granth that states" you CANNOT drink" from what I understand is says you should not take anything the alters the minds state but if you not eaten in 3 days and you have some food that alters you mind as well. but if you only go away with one thing from this, "Do not expect more out of anyone than you expect out of yourself". So if you only looking for that specified guy or girl great but don't put the other ones down because they don't fit into you narrow views of what a Sikh guy or girl should be.
Thanks
