I would like some further clarification on the Shabad "Mangala Saaj bahi-aa, Prabh apanaa gai-e-aa Raam" and why it is recited to help overcome loneliness and to help find a soul mate. It’s the same old story….I am 24 years old and I m being pressured to find a partner or my parents will find one for me. I have always tried to do the right thing…I have had plenty of chances to be with people that my parents would never approve of. I have avoided this temptation hoping that God does have someone out there for me that my parents will approve of. Although the pressure has been on me for a year now I haven’t really looked or tried that hard because I have always had faith in God to find me my life partner and bring him to me. To gain more guidance I came to this site and found the shabad that would help me. I have understood the meaning of this shabad but I am confused on how this will attract /bring my future partner to me. I have read the following post

From what I understand is that I need see God as my perfect husband and recognise our marriage to Him..is that right? I am still confused on how this helps to bring my partner into my life. To be honest I am beginning to lose hope ….I just feel that I am never going to find any one that I like and also get my parents approval.. Is there something else that I should be doing?

Thanks

Sat nam. Stop stop stop intellectualizing gurbani. It is to be known through the heart, not the mind. The basic premise of any paath for a 'purpose' is that you believe and you put it out to Guru and you "let go and let God".
The real issue here is not the shabd, it's your parents. You might consider politely telling them to back off. You are only 24. You have some time. What is their hurry? If you 'must' marry, it should really feel right. Try telling them this. And then make an effort to meet people your age through gurdwara, sikh youth camps and conferences, and the like.
God IS the life partner. God manifests through ALL the people in our lives, including the life partner. Pray to Guru that he resolve the pressure issue you are facing through your parents. Chant the naam daily. Trust in Guru.
Guru ang sang,
