Dear Khalsa Jee,

Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the word of the Akal Purakh (the creator)written by those who went to his court (Guru Nanak) and who received his bani in the first instance. There is no other scripture in the world that has been written by the person(s) who obtained enlightment. The bible was written by the followers of Jesus and the sacred Koran was written by the followers of Prophet Mohammed (and not by the Prophet himself).

Naturally, you can have no better literature than the word of God documented and preserved in the original form by the persons who recieved it first hand.

We are therefore blessed. To protect the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the principles it enunciates, countless Sikhs have laid down their lives over the last 400 years and they have done so in the bana that Guru Gobind Singh laid down for us.

To speak in marketing lingo, the bana of Guru Gobind Singh and the Bani of Sri Guru Granth sahib is our Brand, it is our identity. You cannot expand by diluting the brand....brand expansion has to take place by educating others about the brand and by living with the principles of the brand ourselves...there is no use telling others that our Guru Sahibs tell us to do our Nitnem and stay away from intoxicants while doing the same ourselves...if in a Coke bottle you fill up lemon juice and talk about a cola, people will only laugh at you.

So if you have to expand the brand you have to be the complete ambassador of the brand by living the life that the Gurus have set out for us ...Difficult, may be...but those are the requirements of the brand, the pre-requisites for calling yourself a Sikh...the bana with the bani..

No brand dilutions here please !!!
