How do u break the cycle of birth/re-birth? How is your time here measured? by years, number of breaths? Is it possible to find out how long u can live? And is death pre-determined by karma?

The goal of the gursikh is to live liberated while still alive. So many references in Siri Guru Granth Sahib about...then the messanger of death will not approach you. Guru Gobind Singh's Bani:

Re man- eh bidh jog kamaa-o...oh my mind practice Yoga in this way...truth be your horn, make sincerity your necklace and apply meditation as ashes on your body. Make self restraint your lyre and Naam an aliment to your alms.

The musical sounds of primal essence will be produced by the strings and you will hear God's sweet songs. By the songs of God divine knowledge will come to you. And waves of melody and exquisite pleasure shall be produced.

The demons and demi gods in their chariots will be astonished. And the silnet sages intoxicated with delight. Instruct your soul to don the garb of self restraint and to meditate on God's name witout speaking.

So shall your body, ever remain like gold, and death can never approach you.
