hello, i am a young man living in canada..and i have some questions that have been bugging me for some time..

1) Does waheguru already have our time and place of death set..i mean does he know when and where we are going to do something...so is our life planned out?
2) In sikhism is there a heaven and hell? How are the two like if so?
3) In the GGS does it say anywhere that we cant have boyfriends or girlfriends?
4) Did the gurus mention anything of Jesus Christ, Muhammad, or other prophets? If so what did they say?
5) How many lives did we have before becoming human? If we screw up this life by not doing patt and namm simran will we go back into the cycle?

Thanks,
you guys are doing great seva and helping people out

1. Our life is not arbitrarily figured out by the Guru. We are born with a certain number of breaths. The place and time of your death is a result of how you live your life. There are so many references in Siri Guru Granth Sahib about how you keep the messenger of death away from your door. You must start reading it in English to start building your own personal relationship of understanding with your Guru.

2.There is no heaven or hell. You have this human birth as your opportunity to live in the experience of God's Grace in this life. Some poeple use it and some people abuse this chance. Guru has been given to us to show us how to live in excellance and God consciousness, now! Our life is here and now. Heaven and hell are Cristian concepts for keeping you a good Cristian out of fear. Guru does not give us fear. Guru gives us 'mastery'.

3.Guru Gobind Singh gave us marriage as the only true relationship between a man and a woman. Other than that we have a relationship with our mother, sister or daughter. That is it!

4.I know of no reference in SGGS to Jesus. SGGS does refer to Islam. Guru says that in the Kalyug, God's is known by the name of Allah. It is not a favorable reference. Guru Gobind Singh did say that all people of all religions are one with the One God. "Manas ki Jat sabh eke pachana bo..." The Guru does speak of the lives of saints as examples of how to live a truthful life.

5. It has taken us 8.4 million incarnations from one celled beings on up, to earn this human birth. The goal of human life is to realize your SOURCE; your God nature. By God's Grace, you may be blessed with this realization to apply yourself in this life. You can long for God consiousness too. You must start somewhere. 'Now' is the best time to apply yourself. And, 'You' are the best place to have an experience of Infinity. Sikhee is the path of mastery or 'Chardi Kala'.

God bless you,
SKKK
