Hello,

I was wondering why Sikhs think they are so much better than others?
I have read alot about the Sikh relgion. There are very good points they tend to have others think they are soo religious and such good people but, I have seen alot of Sikh DRUNKS,some try to short change you or charge you more when you bring them business, some grandparents won't even say hello to their grandchild if heor she is mixed, some think women aren't anything,or girls aren't important as boys. The list could go on and on.I believe in my heart that alot of Sikhs need to take a look at themselves before they think they are better than others. They go to Gurwarda every Sunday and when prayer meetings are held these people are at all of them when there is so much hate and wrong doing in them!

(REPLY) How sad that you have such a poor opinion of people. Maybe these people have done the things you mention, but that has nothing to do with being Sikhs. People of any religion can either live up to the values and virtues that the religion teaches, or they can choose not to follow the teachings and live in pettyness. Going to Church, Gurdwara, or Mosque, or Temple does not guarantee that a person will be kind and universal and honest -- but it is one of the things that we do, hopefully, to uplift our consciousness. Try to love everyone, forgive everyone for whatever you see them doing wrong and thank God it's not you doing it! People live their lives as an example or a warning. You are responsible for your own personal attitudes and actions, that's where you should be focusing your energy and trying always to improve yourself and , as we say in the Ardas "think of those who see the faults in others and overlook them, and say Wahe Guru!"
