This is in response to the question asked in the topic above.

Rajputs belonging to Rajasthan(formerly known as Rajputana) did not borrow Singh as part of their name from Sikhism, as Hinduism is very old and Sikhism originated only about 500 years back.

Some Rajput hindus have also converted to Sikhism. They are known as Rajput Sikhs and mostly reside in the doaba are of Punjab.
