well i was pursuing A career in the engineering where I gave 3 academic years
and still just could hardly continue with it as i couldnt take the stress involved... finally i droped out of it wasting 3 years....

Now that i am pursuing a simple graduation degree.. although i have taken up a job i just cant come out of these messy feelings of having lost
my time.. i feel so scared of small little things and the fear of not having
able to do it properly although i know and i am capable of..& well encouraged by my parents.. that i can.. I probably need to come out of it but just cannot.. every single day i do remember as to what i have lost..

(REPLY) Sat Nam. No time spent in study is ever "lost." Many people change career goals after a few years for one reason or another. Is it possible that you could, in a year or two resume your Engineering studies? Think of it as a slight detour that you're taking now, and stop feeling bad about yourself. Considering that you have "lost" is giving you a feeling of failure and is making you fearful and insecure, and THAT is a waste of time! If there was too much stress in your previous studies, then taking a break from that is a wise thing to do. If i understand correctly, you now have a job, and you're working and going to school at the same time? If you're not going to school any more, then have you considered taking night classes and working slowly toward getting the degree you originally wanted? (So, by taking just one or two classes each semester, you might avoid the heavy pressure?) Have you talked to any counselor at college? Meanwhile, remember God and Guru are always with you, and if you forget, then take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that each inhalation is a reaffirmation of God's presence in you ! Read your banis, and keep the Guru in your heart, and offer your head to the Guru when you bow in Gurdwara -- and offer all your insecurities as well! Let the Guru be your strength and your companion! ANG SANG WAHE GURU! Blessings, SP
