I have gone through the forums but could not come to the conclusion of this question which has been in my mind for some time now.

Why were we, as souls, separated from the ever loving god in the first place?
The karmas and the 84 Lac birth cycles comes later but what prompted god to give us living form.

Also another question. This is my understanding of the birth and death cycle. It took us 84 lac lives to reach this human state and hereon it may take us many many more to attain salvation. Salvation can be attained only and only through naam simran. Our karmas decided whether or not in the next life we would have favourable condition for us to practice naam simran without being affected by the 5 evils.I hope i do make some sense here.

I'll be grateful if u could shed some light on these topics

Sat nam. Answer to your first question, generally, is evolution. Physical form allows for experience of good and bad and everything in between. Universe /the Creation / the Creator is not static, but expanding. Other piece of the answer is that Creator gave Souls free will, and w/their free will they wanted the experience of form. These are good questions, but not easy to answer, and subject to interpretation.

On your second question, that is more or less correct. However, it does not account for choice. Choose to practice the naam now. Naam simran erases the karmic account--this may take a minute, it may take lifetimes. This is the basic message of Siri Guru Granth Sahib.
Guru ang sang,
