Satsriakal ji!

I have gone over as many posts as i could to find an answer to my question but i couldnt. I ve been brought up with sikh values and I respect my religion over anything else. just recently, my relatives hooked me up with this guy. I decided to talk to him first and he was honest enough to tell me he had past relationships with 3 girls... I really dont like this and i m thinking of rejecting this person. I havent told anyone yet coz i want to know what Sikhism says about this. Is it a sin to accept someone like this person?? I personally think its not right since purity is important. Please reply as this answer will affect the rest of my life. Thanks in advance!

Sat Siri Akaal. If neither of you are Amritdhari, it is not the most important thing except in your mind. If it is of paramount importance to you, then reject him. Practically speaking, a lot of young men your age (Sikh or not) are probably not completely virgins.
My concern is could he be faithful, would he be faithful? Also, is SIkhi as important to him as it is to you? This question is just as important, for it could determine your level of observance and how your children are raised.

It is not a sin to accept such a person, but you really want to feel confident that this is someone you could spend the rest of your life with and have be the father of your children. And he has to feel the same way about you. Trust is just as important as love in any marriage. If you think he could not be trusted and does not love Sikhi as do you, then move on.
Guru ang sang,
