What is the sagnificance of doing Jap Ji Sahib in the morning?

Doing Sohila at night?

(REPLY) Sat Nam. We do Japji Sahib first thing in the morning to start the day by connecting with our soul. We do Kirtan Sohila at night as a final prayer for establishing our relationship with God and Guru before sleep, when we are not going to be conscioius of the physical plane. (Kirtan Sohila is also recited at funerals, as we leave the body consciousness). SP
