Waheguru Je Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Je Kay Fathe

I have just recently taken amrit with the grace of the Guru. Everything was fine but then a few days ago one of my gym teachers asked me about my kirpan. I answered that it signified self defence and the concept of the saint solider and I also told him that I MUST wear it everyday 24/7. Then he told me that i must take it off to participate in basketball and if i didn't then i would not be allowed to play. I replied that i would rather take off an arm then take my kirpan off and that I would not take it off. Then he said can u not put it in your pocket. This is my problem, should I put it in my pocket??? I do not know. Please guide me.

Your gym teachers are tolerant. Try to comply with them.
Sports require smaller kirpans. It would be sloppy and disrepectful for your kirpan to go flying across the gym floor while playing basketball.

I wear a very small one in my turban. It is about 2 inches long. I also have a very skinny kirpan strap to put the 2 inch kirpan into and keep it up against my body so it cannot fall out or drop. Can you try that?

Blessings
