I am from a sikh family and have kept my hair ever since i was born and have never cut it. However my hair is very short, barely touching my shoulders and is extremely frizzy making my hair like an "afro". I have tried straightening it and then tying a turban but that still doesnt help. This makes it very hard for me to tie my own hair and never have i done it. My parents have always had to tie my hair into a joora for me ever since i was a kid. Now, i am a college student living in america and it is still impossible for me to make my "afro" into a joora so i get someone else like my mom to do it. THis causes trouble in my family as someone always has to be home to do my hair for me before i can tie my turban and go out to school and such. Lately i have been trying to do it myself and it is virtually impossible since even my mom has a hard time making my joora and they tell me i will never be able to tie my hair myself. Please help me find a solution to this hair problem so i will be able to keep my own hair and not have to rely on someone else to do it for me since i am no longer a kid. i should be able to take care of my own hair....

thank you for your time

have you tried braiding your hair intertwined with a ribbon? That might be able to hold your hair together and then you can pick a long ribbon to make joora out of it.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
