Waheguru ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji Ki fateh

Just a quick question on yoga. Im thinking of taking yoga but there are thousands of differetn types of yoga which really confuses me. I know you practice Kundiliyani(sp) yoga but ive been seeing Pranayama yoga which im sure you've heard about exploding in India. Is a certain type of yaga better? What are you opnions on the above yoga i mention. Also what yoga did our Guru's practice?

im planning on taking up Prnayama yoga but just was curious as to why people chose diff yoga techniques. Is yoga like a vast term like martial arts/kung fu etc and so many styles come under it.

thanks in advance! Fateh
(REPLY) Sat Nam. For those of us who have learned and practiced Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness(!) as taught by tne Master, Yogi Bhajan, of course we consider it the best. Hatha Yoga is a beautiful ancient traditional practice (of which he was also a Master!=, but he chose to teach Kundalini Yoga because it is especially designed to give results fast, and just about anyone can practice it. In the book, KUNDALINI YOGA:THE FLOW OF ETERNAL POWER there is a brief description of some of the forms of Yoga. Yoga itself means to yoke, or unite the individual consciousness with the universal or INFINITE consciousness. Kundalini YOga is considered the "mother" of all yogas, and includes aspects of many of the other -- including the practice of Pranayam (which is the word for the yogic technology of breathing). Now that "yoga" has become so popular, many people are jumping on the bandwagon and "specializing" -- best thing is to try out - go take a class and see how it affects you. "Doing is Believing" With God's blessing you will be led to take the right path for you. SP
