Dear Balwinder Kaur,
According to the Sikh Rehit Maryada put out by the SGPC, the answer to your question would be no. From a Yogic standpoint it is also not a good idea. Usually I would not bring up the ideas of Yoga in such a forum but it is said that when you pierce your earlobe it puts a hole in your aura. This may or may not mean anything to you. Also I personally cannot recall ever seeing a single picture with a Guru or any of their wives with earrings. Thats not to say that they did or did not just that you can see through our history that it has not been a common thing. I think ( and i want to stress here that this is simply my own opinion ) that the reason they did not wear them is because they are basically ornaments, something you wear to look better, and it is against the idea that you were made perfectly by God and do not need such things. Of course the question is do you want to wear them? I think you should answer that first before deciding based upon an outside influence. Please just keep in mind that earrings are not permanent. As far as the four Kurehats, what does that mean " as long as you dont commit any of them it is ok" by that same reasoning it might be ok to do other things as well. Does that make any sense. People are always making some kind of exscuse or other to cover their guilt etc. If you want to wear earrings the decision is yours is it not? I hope that this has answered your question Balwinder Ji. Thank You
