Hi there,

My name is Diva, Im not to sure if thats really important! Im a 26 year old that has recently gotten married into an amritdhari family. I Have a hair cut and have all throughout my life. My husband @ one point had a turban and beard and was very religious. Well actually he is still very religious and I have learned alot from him.

Anyways I was reading through your question and answer page, and I think that ur doing a great job, however I have a concern about something that was said!

WELL SOMEONE HAD TOLD YOU ABOUT WHAT THERE AUNT HAD DONE TO THE PERSONS HAIR AND I DO AGREE WITH YOU THAT NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CUT UR HAIR UNLESS UR READY!!!! HOWEVER.....IM REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT UR ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION WAS.....

You may "like" short hair, but that's a fashion to please the ego, rather than pleasing the Guru...

SO ARE U TELLING ALL OF US THAT HAVE OUR HAIR CUT THAT GOD=OUR GURUS ARE NOT PLEASED WITH US??? IM A 26 YEAR OLD THAT DOESNT SMOKE NOR DRINK...DONT EVEN WANNA TRY IT...AND HAVE A GREAT JOB...WITH A WONDERFUL COMPANY!!! DOES IT SAY ANYWHERE THAT OUR GURUS WOULDNT BE PLEASED WITH US IF WE EVER CUT OUR HAIR??

I HAVE HAD SO MUCH SUCCESS AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE....AND PEOPLE AROUND ME THAT ARE RELIGIOUS AND DONT CUT HAIR AND DONT SMOKE AND ALL....ARE AT AROUND THE SAME LEVEL AS ME....SO WHAT DOES HAVING HAIR OR NOT DO WITH ANYTHING???????

DiVa - It is not a matter of pleasing anyone. Hair is such a simple thing. It was given to you for a purpose. It is a natural part of your body and it serves a function. When your hair is the correct length, it stops growing all by itself. Nothing is good or bad except thinking makes it so. If you tune in to your own consciousness with your subtle sensitivity, you will know for yourself what your hairs do. All the hairs on your body are "antennas" and they conduct energy. Cutting them is a constant process because they constantly try to go back to their natural state. Hair doesn't ahve to do with any one else. It is the appearance that God gave you and it serves a (very powerful) natural function.
