Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh!

I have couple of questions. I believe in sikhism and its beliefs firmly. But still have some things on mind that I would like to ask you.

My parents is Amritdari few years back i am not basically.
And i fell in love with a guy few years back and thought should not hide from my parents because they brought me up i have never did anything wrong with this guy and was thinking marriage stage with him. Unfortunately i thought i am a sikh but not a puran one as i have not taken amrit and that guy is a sikh too same as me. My parents know this and strongly disagree on us the reason for disagreeing because he is not in our caste and not from our relative someone unknown i mean wanted to keep his caste out of our mind.

And let's go back to our Five pyaara who was choosen by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
They five were from different family, caste and not all are from Punjab.
The thing i do not understand is why my Parents like to Humiliate and like to look down on other caste. Wanted to ask is their thinking have discrimation against caste is this what Sikh does ?

Is this how Sikh get married by looking at their wealth, caste please do advice me because my parents always think i am thinking wrong where we born in that caste we have to marry back at the same caste.

Please for god sake help me to answer my question why it is like that

Thanks

REPLY:
You are absolutely right, a Sikh shoul never look at such a meaningless thing as caste to judge a person. Guru Nanak is very clearly against this illusion of one human being better than another based on this tradition of caste. Guru Nanak teaches us to see the soul in every creature and throughout God's creation. If your parents are Amritdari they should be living with their head in their hands, walking God's path, focused on loving God, not judging God's creation. Hopefully Guruji will bless them with this understanding.
Best of luck with this situation.
GSKK
