WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA

WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

i have a question about Kirtan Sohila. i have heard some people say that one must recite it while sitting on the bed while facing the pillow, and one must not leave the bed for at least 15 minutes after completing.

(1) please suggest an ideal way of reciting it before sleeping. i always put on a CD of Sukhmani Sahib followed by Mool Mantar, and fall asleep listening to it.

(2) once i was listening to Jaap Sahib and went to sleep, and had bad dreams, this happened more than once! please explain this as well.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA
WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Kirtan Sohila is best recited - by you ! out loud, before you go to sleep at night. It doesn't matter where you sit or where you face. If you want to fall asleep listening to Gurbani, I would suggest that you find something other than the Mool MAntra, because that (and of course Japji Sahib and Jaap Sahib) are best recited and listened to in the morning. Bad dreams come from your subconscious mind releasing negative thoughts and images -- just like dust is kicked up when you go into a dirty basement with a broom and start sweeping, the dust flies! There shouldn't be any problem with sleeping to Sukhmani Sahib. However, there are plenty of other Gurbani CD's available. I hope this helps a bit. Blessings, SP
