hi, my friend has converted to a christian.i am sikh. she would one day like to see me "realize that christianity is the only way to heaven." i believe that christianity is another way but so is sikhism, i believe that jesus my teacher as is guru nanak ji? what is the answer when she asks me, "who will pay for your sins to get into heaven? how will your sins be redeemed? you can not get into heaven by doing good deeds alone as you are not perfect. sikhism is composed of ideologies and beautiful praises, but jesus died for all of us so that we could live?" what is the answer to that? how do we redeem our souls?

Dear one, your friend is not open to your input. Better not to discuss religion with her. Do not open yourself up to confusion and self doubt. Leave her to her own chosen path at this time.

Sikhee is the only religion that people can choose. We do not proselytize or try to convert people. There is no sin or redemption from evil or guilt trip being laid on us as Sikhs. Guru is waiting for everybody.

Be kind to yourself. Our God and Guru are kind and loving and forgiving. We are part of God's perfect creation. How could a perfect God create anything imperfect? Rather than argue and reason with a closed minded person, spend your energy delving deeper into your understanding of the Guru so you can feel strong within your base as a Sikh. If she was strong in her base as a Sikh, she could never have traded the love of our Siri Guru Granth Sahib for the guilt of Christianity.

For the next forty days, recite the Mool Mantra 15 minutes daily with full concentration. Also, take one pauri of Jap Ji Sahib each day, read it in English out loud to yourself and study the meaning throughly. With Muhl Mantrat= and 38 pauris and the closing, you will have a different passage to study for each of your 40 days. Jap Ji Sahib is the base of Sikhee and Guru Nanak gave this as the base and foundation of the entire Siri Guru Granth Sahib. Jap Ji Sahib explains the essence of the entire SGGS.

When you are strong within your experience of your identity as a Sikh of the Guru you can share with others.

God bless you and keep up and you will be kept up.
