Category:General Sikhism

SatShriAkal,

If i feel blessings of God, i listen to kirtan, gurbani but at the same time do some bad deeds too then will my Karmic load remain the same.

I have heard that listening Kirtan and Naam Simran, takes away lots of bad Karmic load, how about if i do bad Karma too.
Will Naam simran have no effect then.

Help me understand

Sat nam. Look, karma/dharma. Living dharma is about making conscious choices to do the RIGHT thing in every situation. Not sure what you consider 'bad deeds' and I'm not going to play God and say your karmic load is or is not the same just because you recite kirtan too.
Sikhi is about living and practicing the technology Guru gave us: bani, bana, simran and seva, and living it consciously. Everyone makes mistakes--errors in judgement--even when our intent was not bad. There is difference between such mistakes and wilful misconduct/misdeeds. Wilful misconduct will create karma. Mistakes can also create karma, but when you learn from them and APPLY the learned lessons to your life as you go one, you live dharmically and your 'karmic load' is diminished. The choice is yours.
Guru ang sang,
