could you please tell me where to find an english version of -"banis, simran, jap ji sahib".also i dont understand all the terms you use when talking about the "Amrit Vela"(early morning meditation i think!!).I am not Sikh but i would like to do it.if this is in anyway disrespectful please enlighten me.It is not just the act of meditating i am interested in but also the meanings behind what is said. How does one sit, is there a specified way? I have looked on the search but could not find anything comprehensive.Thank you.

P.s IF you have time (but not a priority),please could you give me references concerning Sikh attitudes on Charity, Friendship,Acheiving balance between the heart and the head.

Thank you.(I am catholic,as yet i have found no teaching that focuses explicitly on the health of the soul as such).
by the way your website is WONDERFUL!!

Greetings! You are not being disrespectful in any way. We are here to share. You can find Japji Sahib in English here: http://www.sikhnet.com/s/GuruGranthSahib

You can find other banis (Sikh Prayers) in English here: http://www.gurbanifiles.com

The Sikh prayers are a sound current, so they are meant to be recited out loud (in English or the original language). Sit comfortably with your spine straight and listen to the sound of your own voice as you speak.

You will find the answers to your other question within the Japji. Please read it and get back to us here. The Sikh way of life is all about the health of the soul and how to nurture your soul.

Many blessings to you!
