Satnam Waheguru

Hi I need your guidence to help me find direction. Me and my boyfriend been together for four years- we always wanted to get married. But my whole family is not approving of him as they think he's not the right guy for me- they dont' like him at all. But my happiness is with him. Recently they pushed me to break up with him and move on. I feel so empty and alone. Is there anything I can do to make my parents understand that he's not what they think he is. I want both my parents happiness as well us to be together - please help..

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Without knowing exactly what your parents object to about your boyfriend, it's pretty hard to answer your question. Do they have any specific reasons they don't like him? Unless you know that, how can you "prove" they are wrong? What have you and he done to please them, to show them his potential as a good husband? Is your family very devoted to being Sikhs? Is he? Are you? I wish I could give you a magic formula for solving your problem, but I think you need to figure out more and find out more from them. And what about his parents? May God bless you and Guru guide you with wisdom. SP
