SatNaam

GPK ji, u said "a little weeding here and there to keep the overall effect neat and beautiful is sometimes what's needed". i m sorry but as far as i know Amritdhari Sikhs are not supposed to remove any hair anywhere on their body in any way.

Sat Naam.

Of course - you are totally right. Someone who is Amritdhari does not cut anything at all on his or her body.

But for girls who have not yet taken Amrit, and are not quite comfortable with a hair or two that grows in an unusual place, it's important to be sensitive to their self-esteem and their self-image. Keep as much hair as possible, but sometimes it's just plain embarassing and, in those instances, it's cruel to ask someone to keep those hairs if they haven't taken Amrit. That's what I meant. Controversial, I admit. But it's my honest response. Once a woman takes Amrit, she should understand that nothing gets cut. But until then, keep as much hair as you can without doing anything that makes you feel self-conscious or bad about yourself.

Hope this clarified the point.

All love,

GPK
