Happy Baisakhi,

I felt like i need to drop a few lines about the double standard being practiced in several (NOT ALL) sikh guys. I say that because I dated a sikh guy for couple of years (i'm also sikh). He did whatever he wanted to (partying, going out) and sort of forbid me to do anything. I am not complaining I felt like if he had asked me not to go out and party i won't, besides it wasn't my lifestyle to party. We had problems just on that and i had to put an end to our relationship. Then i began to discover that there are other guys who do that, only difference is that my boyfriend wasn't honest to me about going out and other guys have been to their mates. But don't these sikh guys no that honesty should be practiced and so should equality (big aspect of Guru Nanak Dev ji's teachings) . More clearly, what i am trying to say is that you aren't a sikh only becuase you don't cut your hair or go to gurdwara everyday or do paath everyday. How you treat others is also part of being a complete sikh. In a relationship equality is very important. I encourage all you guys who think you have got your girl, to be please be honest with her. Take a look within what you do behind doors is seen by the king of kings, our Waheguru. I have a brother and he holds no double standard. I wish you guys (who fall in the category of double standard men) would wake up and realize its 2003 and Stop imposing what you want on other females (sis, girlfriend, cousin) etc. Be an example for someone don't push them around.
Again I am not referencing to all guys.
Rant is done.
