well i'm a sikh and going to get marry soon , i just wanted to know wat if i just marry at the court without the 4 laava , will it be a problem for me ? will i suffer if i dun have the 4 laava ? does it becoem a problem in my life ? thanks

(REPLY) Sat Nam. I'm curious to know why you don't want to receive the blessing of a Sikh wedding? It doesn't have to be fancy and cost a lot of money, if that is the concern? But the ceremony that was given us by Guru Ram Das is so beautiful, and really honors the sacredness of the marriage commitment so that you and your spouse will have something in your consciousness for the rest of your lives to draw upon for strength and wisdom. Already you know that you will be missing something if you don't walk those four rounds! I hope you will reconsider and plan to get married according to the excellent Sikh tradition, making it a truly meaningful experience, not just a legal necessity. Blessings, SP
