Waheguru ji ki fateh
dearest khalsa ji,
i have been reading path regularly, along with some shabad kirtan. So far I have found a lot of Gurbani line which if translated into english would mean "Join the society of the saints". It would be so great if you could explain the meaning of it. Thank you very much.
Best Regards.
(REPLY) Sat Nam. I believe the translation is from the words "Sadh Sangat" -- which means a group of the "disciplined ones." Basically Guru is telling us to be in a community of people who worship as we do, in other words, go to the Gurdwara! Although individually each person there has human defects, when we gather as a Sadh Sangat, the group becomes a "society of saints." to reach Universal consciousness, we have to go from individual consciousness through Group Consciousness, and that is why community is so valuable to a Sikh.
