I just wann aknow if playing chess is allowed in SIkhi. My dad gets mad at me for playing chess and says it is strictly prohibited in SIkhi. What does Gurbani says about it? Is it allowed or not? Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

(REPLY) I'm not a scholar, but I can't imagine why there would be any objection to playing chess! It is not a gambling game, but rather an excellent way to develop intellectual ability to strategize. I've never heard of any prohibition to playing chess. Maybe someone else has an answer? I would certainly like to know on what your dad bases his objection. Blessings, SP
