Hi. I just wanted to know are Sikhs allowed to be Gay or Lezbian?

I don't think someone gay would say that it is a matter of choice. Either someone is gay or they are not. Perhaps a bisexual person could choose.

As far as I have researched, there is nothing in the SGGS which prohibits Sikhs from being gay. One's sexual orientation is a very personal situaltion. I know that there is a lot of prejudice against gays in Sikhism, but isn't it time for that to change. Just because it exhists doesn't make it right. It starts with you and me to make an attitudinal change...to speak up with friends...to eradicate any kind of hate and prejudice in our consciousness. I hope this answers your question.
