Singh, i understand where you're coming from, in a similar situation, i can say your only answer is GuruJi. The moderator recommended you a book on self confidence, i'll recommend you one- Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Ive been through similar ups and downs and i can tell you since i took that first step towards my guru, im living a happier life. I have a turban and a beard, but i was never religious, i would go gurdwara, not understanding things, i generally never made an effort. One day through Guru's Kirpa, i just started reciting Rehras Path, nothing special, just wanted to know what the 'big deal' was about more than anything.

So i started of, and as time went on, i could recite most of it, never undersood it. One day as i was reciting Chapaui paath during Rehras (Bani from our 10th Guru), i just starting crying, i saw the love for God our Guru's had. And since that day, ive left everything in God's hands, and i'll tell you brother, its a miracle what your Guru can do for you. People miss out on the opportunity simply because they dont make an effort. Im not exactly Mr Religious, but just that 1/2 hour a day doing Rehras paath gives me immense strength. There's a line in anand sahib, "angeekar oh karay tayra karag sabhna savrna" It means if you submit to him, if you trust God, he'll take care of all your affairs and will support you, be it Girlfriends, financial, ANYTHING, trust me!!!

I wish you the best of luck in the future, but i can tell you all the training to look like arni is NOTHING compared to the strength Guru can give you if you're willing to listen to him. Im still trying to improve my knowledge of Gurbani, that first time i picked up a Sundar Gutka was by chance and if it wasn't for that, i think i would be as depressed as anything. GuruJi gives hope more than anything else, he will sort out everything in your life. Even now i go through all sorts of crap in life, ups and downs, but when you're down there's no better chance to talk to your Guru. I sometimes to forget to talk to GuruJi in the night, and my day really goes horrible. Try it, late nite, before you go to sleep, talk to God about your problems, be honest not hanky panky, say "God, help me out here man, im struggling, i dont want to go down the path of Drugs. people call me ugly....""" bla de bla.

You'll be surprised how everything will sort it self out. I started doing this when i was depressed, and somehow things just started changing, i started finding answers in my daily life.

Wish you the best of luck with your future, but mate, your only option is to seek advice of GuruJi, as close as i am with parents, brothers and sisters, there's certain things i cant talk about, probably cos im embarassed, but over time i found, That's what Guru Ji is here for. God bless
