hi, im abit confused about all the references to the aqurian age. i'v read alot of the repies given and i genuinely believe that u have given good advice. but when i read replies with Aquarian Age in them u loose me. i mean there is no reference to it in gurbani, dasam granth or by any prominents sikhs from the days of the guru's. i first thought u were refering to kaljug when u said aquraian age but i soon realised u weren't.

So basically what does the Aquarian Age and numerology have to do with sikhi, where do they come from? Doesn't all this come under superstition?
i mean no offence, i just want to understand.
thank u

Sat Nam!

Well, let’s start by looking at the bigger picture. Yuga is the Sanskrit term for an "age," meaning one of the four periods in which the world time cycle is divided: (1) Sat yuga, the golden age when there is unity in One God. (2) Treta yuga, the silver age when righteousness declines by a quarter and people begin to feel separate from God. (3) Duapar yuga, the bronze age when righteousness again declines by a quarter and people turn to religions to have a relationship to God. (4) Kali yuga, the iron age when disorder, distress disease, despair, conflict and war dominate and people feel that God is dead. At present the world is considered to be in the Kali yuga, which began in 3102 BC (about 5000 years ago.) At the conclusion of the Kali yuga, begins another Sat yuga or Golden Age. The duration of each yuga (with each in succession reducing by a quarter to reflect the decline in righteousness) is:

Sat yuga = 1,728,000 human years
Treta yuga = 1,296,000 human years
Duapar yuga = 864,000 human years
Kali yuga = 432,000 human years

So this Kali yuga still has 426,895 years to run! (talk about long term thinking - those Vedic yogis definitely thought in the long term!) The total of all four yugas (4,320,000 years) equals one Maha yuga, or "Great Age", one full time cycle. 2,000 Maha yugas (eight million six hundred and forty thousand years) = one day and one night in the life of Brahma.

Now that you have some perspective, let’s look at the astronomical ages. These are far shorter than even the shortest of Yugas.
Our solar system revolves around a central axis. It requires something less than 26,000 years to make one revolution and this orbit is called the Zodiac. It is divided into twelve signs, familiarly known as Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. It requires our Solar System a little more than 2,100 years to pass through one of these signs, and this time is the measurement of an Astronomical Age. Because of what astronomers call "the precession of the Equinoxes" the movement of the sun through the signs of the Zodiac is in reverse order from that given above. In regard to the exact time of the beginning of an astronomical Age there is some disagreement among astronomers, but it is conceded by all that the sun entered the zodiacal sign Taurus in the days of our historic Adam when the Taurian Age began and that Abraham lived not far from the beginning of the Arian Age, when the sun entered the sign Aries. About the time of the rise of the Roman empire the sun entered the sign Pisces, the Fishes, and the Piscean Age began. It was early in this Age that Jesus of Nazareth lived.

What is the Piscean Age?

The word Pisces means fish. The sign is known as a water sign, and the Piscean Age has been distinctly the age of the fish and its element, water. The Christians used the rite of water baptism, which has been used in some form in all the Christian Churches and cults, even to the present time. Water is a symbol of purification. The fish was a Christian Symbol. In the earlier centuries of Christianity the fish was used everywhere as a symbol of Jesus Christ. The last two thousand years, comprising the Piscean Age, has certainly been one of water and the many uses of that element have been emphasised, and sea and lake and river navigation has been brought to a high degree of efficiency. The Piscean Age is, “I want knowledge. Take me where it is.” It is an age of seeking. An age of faith and belief. “Piscean spirituality is ‘bring me water for twelve years. Give me bath. Take care of me. Get totally devoted and one day I’ll find you pure and I’ll bestow on you the spirituality.’”

What is the Aquarian Age?

Aquarius is an air sign and the Aquarian Age is already noted for remarkable inventions for the use of air travel, electricity, computers, the Internet and the World Wide Web. Men navigate the air as fish do the sea, and send their thoughts spinning around the world with the speed of lightning. The word Aquarius is derived from the Latin word aqua, meaning water. Aquarius is the water bearer, and the symbol of the sign, which is the eleventh sign of the Zodiac, is a person carrying a pitcher of water in his right hand. The Aquarian Age is pre-eminently a spiritual age and the reality of existence is being experienced by many people who are now coming into an advanced stage of spiritual consciousness. The sign of the water bearer shows the free flow of spiritual awareness, or gyan.

In the next sixty years, people are going to find there is no religion. The only thing left will be reality.

In the Aquarian Age, there will be no respect for a man who carries himself. There will only be respect for the man who carries others. Learn to carry the other person to the best of your ability. Whenever you apply your best, you will become the best. That’s the law of “Best.” Then the entire Cosmos will come in to help you. Then God is within, not outside of you.

Iin this Age of Aquarius, the Dharma of a person shall be to reach out. Reach out to help, reach out to share smiles, reach out to hear each other, reach out for every reason without judgment.

The Cusp of the Ages
The transition from the Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age began in 1991. The Aquarian age started on the 11th of November 1991 and since then if you study scientifically you will know the earth moves three and half miles an hour slower and there is a 22 degree difference in the frequency of the earth's magnetic field. In 1991 the axis of the earth changed, and so the vibration and so the electromagnetic field and so the psyche.

Just because something is not written in Guru Granth Sahib does not mean we should not understand it and do it. Where in Guru Granth Sahib does it say we should brush our teeth? Yet we brush our teeth. Let us not be confused by close minded rigidity for it is a symptom of fear of Truth. The whole world is in transition and the Sikh Dharma is the embodiment of Aquarian values and lifestyle.
