Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa !
Waheguru Jee Kee Fateh !

The United Nations Association in Canada is pleased to
announce the implementation of the Youth For
Diversity: Networking Young Leaders & The Rights
Stuff: Youth Training Workshops on the Canadian
Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

These projects will coordinate five regional forums
across Canada. These forums are focused on youth, and
we are therefore trying to make them as accessible as
possible to youth by making youth feels welcome and
comfortable. For these reasons, we have been trying to
encourage participants between the ages of 16-29 only.
Canadian youth falling in this age category are
welcome to participate from all over Canada.

Diversity workshop for Kamloops, BC is scheduled to
take place on November 13 – 16, 2003. Especially youth
from BC and Alberta are encouraged to participate in
the diversity workshop.

The first two day of the three-day workshop would be
focus on diversity education, leadership, capacity
building for networks, and increasing connectivity
between youth and community-based organizations,
including dialogue and strategizing around current
diversity issues. There is a $75 dollar registration
fee, which I believe has to be paid after the
approval/acceptance of the application forms.

The third day of the workshop is designed to train
youth to develop an understanding of their Rights and
Freedoms as residents of this country. In a half-day
workshop, Youth will discuss the importance of the
guidelines set out in the Canadian Charter of Rights
and Freedoms and explore what it means in their daily
lives. There is a separate application form for the
human rights workshop (Third day of the workshop).
Please check an attachment. There is no fee for the
rights workshop.

UNA Canada would provide the accommodation, and some
travel may be provided as well. Fundraising helps also
available. (Please contact Project Officers address
given below:)

Please feel free to ask me any more details about this
project. Also, the project officers at the UNA in
Ottawa would be more than happy to share more about
the other regional forums to take place across Canada.
