I would jus like to say u guys r doin great, vaheguru bless u!
im an amritdhari, and for bein one i know wuts rite and wuts wrong, and takin amrit means ur promising vaheguroo that u wont do wut is wrong. my question is, i know lyin is wrong, i have never lied as much in my life as i have been doin lately. everytime i do i feel guilty, and in my mind i ask for forgiveness from vaheguru. wut i wanted to know is, is it wrong to lie even if its for a good reason, for eg. not makin urself look bad, and if u dont cover up da truth it will cause a big problem. i know wut i did wasint rite, but it wasint that wrong either, it was jus sumtihn that got out of hand. is it worng to lie even if its for a good reason, its da best for u and other ppl?

Words are very powerful tools. We create our entire life with them. The Gurus understood this and taught that the path to Realization is through the Word, through the Shabd and so, as Sikhs, we meditate upon the Word to elevate our consciousness.

When you speak, speak to represent your true identity and speak to elevate other people. Other than that, say nothing at all. If you learn to speak only what truly represents your highest consciousness and only speak what uplifts the heart of another person, you shall never go wrong.

There is beautiful line in Gurbani that say, "If you want to find God, say nothing to break another person's heart for in the heart of the other person is your Beloved - is God." If you allow this to rule your communication, you will become Divine.
