Hello

My reaction to the person who wrote that posting was like, i can sooo relate to her. In some ways, but not ALL the ways. I dont have being indian. Infact, i think we have the best roots, now what people made our culture today, such as society talking about each other and back stabbing. Thats just not our punjabi culture, thats just how society is. Secondly, you can run away from "indian" as much as possible. Quiet frankly, i think its in all in you head. I don't think anyone cares how you dress, if someone makes remarks then its their problem, not yours. You just need to tell yourself, you are who you are, if anyone has a problem with it, then its THEIR problem, not YOURS. It's sad you are running away form people, i mean changing your life. DO you really think you will get away from them? NOPE...Nosy people will always be around, in one form or another, indian or non-indian. Concentrate on your school, your life, your health. You are investing too much time in what others feel or how others percieve you, WHO CARES? . BTW it was your parents decision to not like indians. Why don't you try seeing things for yourself, sometimes your parents won't be around to show you things. Make your own judgements and draw your indepentdent conclusions. I am all for independence. I think parents are perfect for setting foundations, and i love mine for everything they gave me, my culture, my roots, my language, my heritage and my standards. My parents can't hold my finger and walk me through life, thats something they have accepted and i have also. So dear friend, please don't stress over people who don't matter. If you want to be isolated then be it. But don't waste your time fighting things that may not exist.
